Devi on the red carpet

Ealing Fairtrade Group volunteers Jackie Whitaker, Shakuntla Joshi and Devi Joshi (pictured left) attended London Fairtrade’s big event for Fairtrade Fortnight 2011, which took place at Whitgift Centre, Croydon, on 12 March.

Over 100 individuals and family groups had their own red carpet Fairtrade Moment, while hundreds of people sampled Fairtrade bananas, chocolate, nuts and other snacks. Many visitors were introduced to the idea of Fairtrade fashion and beauty products for the first time.

Dozens of pieces of Fairtrade cotton bunting were decorated on the day and many dozens more – from across London – were hung around the balconies in the Centre.
