Diary dates for 2015
- On Monday, January 12th, Ealing Fairtrade Group Co-ordinator Jackie Whitaker is meeting with representatives from Brent, Hounslow and Richmond to discuss plans for the West London Fairtrade Way. The current plan is for each borough to organise a walk on March 7th, attempting to devise an interesting/attractive route that passes lots of Fairtrade outlets. Walkers from all boroughs will be invited to a late afternoon/evening event at a church in Chiswick, potentially chocolate-themed with the involvement of Divine Chocolate.
- Fairtrade London’s next Full Borough Meeting is on January 13th, at City Hall from 6.00 – 8.00 pm. Two people from each London borough group are invited – let us know if you are interested in attending. The agenda includes plans for Fairtrade Fortnight.
In February, before Fairtrade Fortnight, we have two planned activities:
- Thursday February 12th: A pre-Valentines day bake sale at Perceval House. In previous years this has been a successful fund-raiser and good for engaging with Ealing Council employees. We will need helpers on the day – and volunteers to contribute cakes, cookies etc for sale.
- Friday, February 13th: We’re organising another Fair at Ealing Hospital and need volunteers to help on the day – please let us know if you’re available.
Finally, Ealing Fairtrade Group members Shakuntla, Devi and Dalia are looking into the potential for a Fairtrade Magazine – maybe online – more details to come in due course.
Hope you all have a wonderful New Year. See you in 2015!
