This event has been organised by the recently established Ealing Oxfam Fundraising Group, set up by a local mum, Emma Leahy.
It’s a sale of donated jewellery and accessories at Christ the Saviour Church, Ealing Broadway, taking place from 9.00 am – 12 noon.
The money raised will go towards a specific Oxfam project – women rice farmers in Liberia. We want to turn swamps into rice paddies and help families grow enough food to survive in one of the world’s poorest countries. Why 4? The EU has pledged to match any public funds raised for this project with a 4-fold donation. If Oxfam can raise £50,000 by 20 December, they’ll unlock a grant to get an extra £200,000 to help even more poor families in Liberia!
If you can’t come to the sale, you can still support the project by making a small donation at: Beads 4 rice – help change the future for 700 families in Liberia
